  • NATO standards are actively implemented in training system of Ukrainian army

    Acting Head of Main Training Department of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine Col. Ihor Podolian said it during a briefing held in Kyiv on November 07.

    A number of activities are being implemented within the Armed Forces of Ukraine to adapt the NATO standards, including operation Joint Multinational Training Group – Ukraine (JMTG-U) and training of multinational group under Striker program.

    “In the framework of JMTG-U, 8 battalions and 1 company have been trained. Moreover, individual training conducted by the UK Orbital training mission instructors is also effective. In 2018, this course is planned to be conducted in three Ukrainian brigades”, Col. Podolian informed.

    According to Acting Head of Main Training Department of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, in 2017, 136 Ukrainian instructors have been trained by foreign instructors.

    “In 2017, two new training centres have been opened and eight centres have been reconstructed. Innovative technologies have been implemented in training, including in multinational specialized computer rooms and training complexes with the newest software”, Col. Podolian added.
