The Ministry of Finance welcomes the launch of the contactless payment system Android Pay. On November 1, Minister of Finance Oleksandr Danyliuk attended the official launch of Android Pay in Ukraine.

Together with the general manager of Google Ukraine Dmytro Sholomko, the Minister tested the system.

“Ukraine is the 19th country in the world where the contactless payment system Android Pay is in operation. I congratulate the teams of Google Україна, PrivatBank and Oshchadbank on this achievement! The launch of Android Pay is one more success story demonstrating that the Ukrainian market is attractive for leading innovative companies”, Oleksandr Danyliuk said.

He added that such services contribute to Ukraine’s movement towards the cashless economy which has no space for corruption and abuse of office.

The service Android Pay makes it possible to purchase goods and services offline and online using a smartphone. Currently, Android Pay in Ukraine allows to process cards of Visa and Mastercard issued by the PrivatBank and Oshchadbank, but, according to Google Ukraine, the list of the participating banks will be permanently updated.
