Ukraine pledges interest
to carry out joint projects
with Canada and deepen mutually
beneficial cooperation. This statement was made by
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr
Groysman during talks with Julie
Payette, Governor General of Canada.
«I've been
in Canada for several days
and I am very impressed by the country
and by the
level of cooperation that we see», the
Prime Minister emphasized.
In turn, the
Governor General assured that Canada,
where the Ukrainian diaspora is one of
the largest communities in the world, will
continue to support Ukraine.
The Head of
Government briefed the Canadian side
on the course
of reforms and emphasized that relations with Canada at
the political and most importantly
at economic level are the
topmost priorities. He stressed that
the tendency towards increasing the volume of
trade between Ukraine and Canada
is optimistic. However, the potential
of such growth
has not yet
been fully utilized.
«I am convinced
that the Free Trade
Agreement, which came into force
on August 1, 2017, opens up additional
opportunities for boosting our business
activity. I hope that we will
be able to
strengthen cooperation on projects on
reforming the civil service, decentralization, retrofitting of the law
enforcement system, fighting corruption, deregulation, energy independence», underscored Volodymyr Groysman.
