Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman called on local authorities to gather materials and to investigate blocking and failure of tenders. This was announced by the Head of Government during a meeting with the leadership and members of the Association of Ukrainian Cities. The attendees singled out issues pertaining to the tendering process, in particular the Antimonopoly Committee’s decision on abolishment of the said tender as overriding problems faced by the city mayors.

«I appeal to the Association of Ukrainian Cities to prepare analytical material: how many tenders have been held, how they were cancelled, who are the participants and who are those who block the process?», underscored the Prime Minister.

    Background

The recent example is the disruption and restoration of a tender for the purchase of scanning systems for customs announced in June of this year, the tenders were blocked and canceled by a decision of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine because of the complaint of one of the participants. The complaint was found to be unsubstantiated, however, the purchase was postponed till the end of November.
