  • Verification groups from Italy, Romania, and Slovakia work in Ukraine

    Three foreign inspection groups start their work in Ukraine to inspect Ukraine’s observation of international treaties in arms control and in the framework of efforts promoting regional security and confidence.

    Chief of Verification of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Col. Andrii Hudz stressed it during a briefing in Kyiv.

    “Annually, Ukraine hosts about 60 verification events. In 2017, Ukraine organized 107 events in Ukraine and outside its territory,” he said.

    According to him, Ukraine is a single country which adapted the Vienna Document 2011 to current conditions and conducted 25 extra-quota international inspections in east of Ukraine. Ukraine provides conditions for modernization of the Vienna Document 2011 and searching other OSCE tools contributing to military stability, transparency and predictability in international relations.
