On October 13, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk met Minister of Finance of Germany Wolfgang Schäuble during the Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank in Washington. These meetings of the two ministers have already become an established tradition.
The Ministers discussed the progress of reforms in Ukraine and the deepening cooperation between Ukraine and Germany. Wolfgang Schäuble will soon resign as the Minister of Finance to become the Speaker of the German Bundestag.
Oleksandr Danyliuk thanked Mr. Schäuble for “his steady support political support to Ukraine and his expert and technical assistance in the implementation of reforms. The Minister of Finance of Ukraine mentioned the importance of the support provided by the German partners of Ukraine in the implementation of the comprehensive reform of the State Fiscal Service and development of the Strategy for the Management of Public Finance. He also passed Mr. Schäuble a letter with thanks from President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
Wolfgang Schäuble assured Mr. Danyliuk that Germany will continue to support Ukraine in the implementation of its important reforms.
