According to the schedule, the heating
season will be kicked off
on October 15. Social objects, inter alia
schools, kindergartens, and hospitals ought
to be connected
to the heating
system if the temperature in the premises
decreases to 16 degrees, and residential
buildings are to be connected
within three days if the
temperature there is below 8 degrees.
According to Prime
Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, the country
for the first
time in recent
years is completely prepared for the heating
season and sufficient fuel reserves have been
accumulated. The Ministry of Energy
and Coal Industry reports,
as of September,
14.8 billion cubic meters of natural
gas are in underground gas storage facilities,
which is 2.3 billion cubic meters
more than in last year.
Coal reserves make up 1.980.5 thousand tons, which is 568.3 thousand tons more
compared with last year’s figures.
Apart from that,
the Cabinet of Ministers accentuates
local governments bear direct responsibility
for providing consumers with heat and hot
water. The same concerns the
formation of tariffs for consumed
energy. Moreover, the Prime Minister
has repeatedly emphasized that there are no
grounds for increasing gas prices in Ukraine.
He also stressed
the need to prevent price
hikes for heating services on the ground.
«I expect local
leaders will assume responsibility as well as
will not allow any price
hikes», the Head of Government
stressed.
