President of Ukraine
Petro Poroshenko has signed a package
of bills on pension reform
developed by the Government of Ukraine and
approved by the Verkhovna Rada
of Ukraine, which allows virtually
for the first
time since independence to create a fair pension
system for millions of citizens.
This was stated by Prime
Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.
The Head of
Government attended the signing ceremony
and backed the words of
the President that the reform is a decisive
step aimed at restoring justice.
«Millions of
Ukrainian retirees were waiting for
this crucial moment. We had
a long path before we achieved
it. But today
we have a pivotal moment to shape a fair
pension system for the first
time since our independence: our task is
to ensure that pensioners will get higher
retirement payments already this month»,
the Prime Minister stressed.
He thanked the
President and all lawmakers for
their participation in the elaboration
and final adoption of the
reform and assured the readiness
of all authorities
to implement the said decision.
"We will
make every effort to ensure
the growth of the economy.
I am deeply convinced that we will succeed
- there will be more jobs,
higher salaries, we will lay
the foundation for future generations,
and the Pension
Fund will not be jeopardized.
The signing of the pension
reform allows to start revaluation
of pensions. I am grateful to
the President and to all
who supported the initiative and made it
possible to pass the law
in October. I congratulate and thank you for
this decision», claimed Volodymyr Groysman.
