The global world treats Ukraine as a reliable partner, says Prime Minister at the KIEF

Ukraine demonstrates a growing trend in the economy, and it is a qualitative change called to alter the model of economy, to start producing added value within the state and prove to the entire world that Ukraine is a truly reliable partner for investing and introducing innovations. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman was quoted as saying during the Kyiv International Economic Forum (KIEF).

“The global world treats Ukraine as a reliable partner,” the Head of Government stressed, “Ukraine has triggered growth. Many countries in the world are struggling to make their economies sound, to ensure a high quality of life, and global competition is apparent. In current challenges it is hard to find solutions to attain and preserve leading positions. Herewith, Ukraine has paved a difficult path from a weak economy and decades of lost opportunities. Today we have a historic chance to become a big, economically strong and developed country. And perhaps this is the strongest chance in the continent. Many areas need modernization and change – from national legislation to the introduction of new innovative solutions and transformations in the model of the state's economy.”

Volodymyr Groysman emphasized that economic growth is a top priority for the Government. The next year, this figure will reach 3%, but it must and has every chance to improve in the context of pursuing reforms and the implementation of both new initiatives and already agreed proposals. Among those are transparent privatization and, thus, leveraging investment and technological innovation, further development of tools for working with investors through the UkraineInvest Investment Promotion Office, the National Industrial Development Committee, upgrading of the education sector and the creation of technological parks within the new legal framework.

“We occupy a leading position in the world. But I also know that in other nooks in the world, where an innovative product is created, there are Ukrainian brains. We have to exert every effort to use this brain in Ukraine and create product in Ukraine,” the Head of Government urged, “Hence, the objective is to shape legal framework for the creation of industrial parks. For the first time, we have planned in 2018 state budget draft a resource for the Innovation Support Fund. We have just embarked on this work, but I assure you that innovation and breakthrough solutions will evolve”.
