Ukraine has every
opportunity to enter the TOP-40 countries list of the World Bank's Doing
Business ranking in the medium term, and to introduce smart regulations allowing
the country to enlarge the SMEs sector and to make it a strong growth hub.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said during a meeting with
entrepreneurs.
The Head of Government took part in the opening of a new on-line platform for communication and interaction between government and businesses, developed with the assistance of the Better Regulation Delivery Office and the EU Delegation to Ukraine. The new platform allows entrepreneurs to launch start-up along 15 directions, mostly in the area of small and medium-sized businesses - from the restaurant to the private kindergarten and the family doctor's office. The platform located in Kyiv was joined by three Ukrainian cities - Mykolayiv, Chernivtsi and Vinnytsia.
"We have a paramount
task to promote the development of the national economy. And it will be
fulfilled, in particular when we engage in developing of small and medium-sized
businesses, when launching a business will become easy and transparent," said
Volodymyr Groysman.
He stressed that
the Government is taking action to achieve the goal through abolishing over 360
groundless and inefficient regulations; instead, bills it engages in drafting
bills, aimed to improve the conditions for doing business in Ukraine.
"I assure
you that Government control should be smart, while deregulation should be reasonable.
And all endeavors should be directed at improving the quality of doing
business," urged the Prime Minister.
He added that
there are certain problems that worry entrepreneurs related to connection to networks,
land allocation, etc. "There are certain problems, but wherever local
government is responsible, wherever transparent and understandable rules of the
game are introduced, in those areas we see the development. Such practices should
be made public and set as examples,” said the Head of Government, “We possess
the potential and have everything necessary to make businesses successful and to
improve our performance in the Doing Business ranking - to enter TOP-40
countries. This goal is achievable."
