The agreed draft
state budget will be presented by members of the Cabinet of Ministers on
September 15 and aftermath submitted to the Parliament, as required by
Ukrainian legislation, said Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.
“Last year we had submitted an honest budget on time, and it was not withdrawn. This year, on September 15, the Government will approve the draft budget for 2018 and table it in the Parliament. We will not withdraw the draft budget. We want an open and broad discussion, we want the budget to be clear”, stressed Volodymyr Groysman. “Top priorities (of the budget) will be presented at the Government sitting on Friday.”
The Head of
Government added that in the document there are preserved all top priority sectors
of the Government's work, as well as determined a number of problematic issues to
be addressed, in particular financing roads, supporting educators, addressing
healthcare issues, including in the rural area.
“We envisage an
increase in financing of healthcare sector by UAH 10 billion within the
framework of the reform the adoption of which we expect. It is significant that
within the scope of the reform there is an initiative of the President of
Ukraine on support of rural medicine. It is good that the President has taken
the lead and responsibility for the reform, including rural medicine. It is essential
to lift the sector out of the trap it occurred to be and to provide quality
services for the citizens”, said Volodymyr Groysman.
