The upcoming 2018 will
be the year
of development of quality education
in Ukraine - due to the
establishment of hub schools, retrofitting
of educational institutions and provision of their
material needs, revision of educational
programs and continuation of the policy of
increasing salaries to teachers. This
was stated by Prime Minister
of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during the All-Ukrainian conference of pedagogical
workers.
The Head of
Government recalled this year, the Cabinet of
Ministers of Ukraine increased teacher salaries
by 50% as well as launched
school modernization projects, from the purchase of
specialized equipment for natural schools
to the transfer
of school buses, the implementation
of inclusive education programs and the introduction
of new educational
programs.
Particular attention was
paid to the
access to preschool facilities. "In 2020, there can not be
any territorial community, where children will be
in a waiting list (first of
all, to kindergartens).
We will hold
local authorities accountable for this issue: there
are funds, however
there is also a problem. So
it needs to be solved.
Our accessibility task is an
absolute priority for the next
decade. We have no right
to restrict children to access
to normal education", the Head of
Government said.
In this context,
he put a special emphasis to the development
of education in mountainous areas and called
to use different
mechanisms for supporting this area, starting from the use
of student knowledge assessment coefficients to direct budget subsidies.
The Prime Minister
stressed that most of the
Government's initiatives for the development
of education are enshrined in
the bill, which is being
considered by the Parliament and will be
discussed this fall.
"I am convinced
that 2018 will be the year
of the development
of our Ukrainian
high-quality education. I thank each teacher
in the village
and in the
city for carrying out a work in difficult
conditions", accentuated
Volodymyr Groysman.
