Ukrainian logistics infrastructure - from ports and railroads to air traffic ought to be overhauled, to this end the Government commissioned the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine to elaborate a strategy for the comprehensive development of the industry. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, while talking to media people in the framework of a working visit to Mykolaiv region. The Head of Government inspected the state of repair activities on the road T-15-08 - Kalynivka - SnigurivkaBereznehuvate.

He placed a special emphasis to the fact that work aimed to strengthen the said industry is already underway. Thus, the Strategy for the development of the road sector is being actively designed due to the implementation of specific projects, which are under constant Prime Minister’s control.

«The strategy for road development is based on concrete projects. We need time and resources», stressed Volodymyr Groysman and added that an essential component of the resources’ provision is a dramatic transformation in the work of the customs and sufficient financial resources obtained as a result of overfulfillment of customs revenues plan.

«Last year Mykolaiv customs office provided a sum worth UAH 600 million and this year revenues make up already UAH 1.2 billion. We are going to increase volumes. It is of paramount importance to ensure qualitative road repair activities. The competition in the market of road building leads to a decrease in price of works and improvement in quality», summed up the Head of Government.

According to the Prime Minister, there are also developments in the sphere of water transport, namely, inland water transport, which can become an alternative to road transport.

«We need to restore river navigation. This is a key element of economic development and  ogistics of cargo that will also relieve pressure on roads», underlined the Prime Minister.
