  • Prime Minister during teleconference on energy issues: There are no grounds for any gas price hikes, funding for subsidies will be provided in time

    There are no reasons to raise gas prices for the population, claimed Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman in the course of the special teleconference, which is underway in Mykolaiv and dedicated to the preparation for upcoming the autumn-winter period 2017/2018.

    «There won’t be an increase in price for natural gas for the population by the government’s decision», Volodymyr Groysman accentuated.

    He stressed that the issue on funding of subsidies in the next heating season has been resolved due to the adoption of amendments to the state budget and to the allocation of UAH 14.1 billion for these purposes. At present, according to the Prime Minister, the work is being carried out on verification of calculations and by September funding will be granted to the fullest extent. "It is of paramount importance to organize an efficient work on the ground in order to provide sustainable protection to the most vulnerable populations», the Head of Government urged.

    Moreover, he placed a special emphasis on the importance of implementation of energy efficiency projects.
