  • Defense Ministers of Ukraine and Poland negotiate In Warsaw

    During his visit to the Republic of Poland, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak held talks with his Polish counterpart, Antoni Matsarevich.

    Stepan Poltorak informed the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Poland on the situation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, about threats that exist from the Russian Federation.

    Mr. Antoni Matsarevich emphasized that the news about the situation in eastern Ukraine testify that Russia continues to ignore the Minsk agreements. He also expressed concern about the danger of exacerbating the situation, in connection with the conduct of the exercises “West 2017”.

    Also during the meeting, the sides discussed the issue of strengthening cooperation between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Poland in the field of military-technical cooperation, further development and training of the Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian brigade.

    “I highly appreciate the results of this meeting, which once again prove that Poland has been, is and will be a strategic partner for Ukraine,” the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak said.
