Minister/ Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv took part in Digital
Ukraine Forum: Digital
Development Strategy, which
is taking place in Kyiv with the participation of representatives of the
Parliament, the Presidential Administration, the
public and business community.
Opening the
forum, Stepan Kubiv
stressed that the present Ukraine has all necessary components for the
successful digital transformation and the development of the digital economy:
"Ukraine is among top 20 countries of the world in terms of exports of IT
products, we have over 100 thousand Ukrainian IT professionals and over 5
thousand IT companies. At the same time, we must balance work among the
authorities, science and business. International practice indicates that the
customer of the scientific solutions always appears business. Therefore,
science should be aligned with industry. While, the Government will continue to
create a favorable regulatory framework", said Stepan
Kubiv.
He added that
today the Government has focused on three blocks of issues: legislative changes
that will promote digital transformation in the country, an investment and
innovation policy to stimulate innovation development and to encourage large
investment projects, primarily to ensure the creation of the digital
infrastructure and other elements of digitalization.
Stepan Kubiv noted that it is necessary to support the development
of high-tech industries to comply with the elaborated by the Ministry of Economic
Development and Trade of Ukraine High-Tech Industries Development Strategy till
2025. According to him, the implementation of the measures defined in the
Strategy will enable the country to create conditions for encouraging the
development of high-tech industries, wide adoption of innovations in all
sectors and the transition to innovative economy.
"Basing on
the best international experience, the Ministry of Economic Development and
Trade has shaped the High-Tech Industry Development Strategy through 2025,
which was designed to create conditions to foster the development of high-tech
industries, wide introduction of innovations in all spheres and the transition
to innovative economy. A number of project offices under the Cabinet of
Ministers of Ukraine and ministries operate in order to coordinate investment
and innovation policy", said the First Vice Prime
Minister.
He noted that
joint efforts had resulted in large investment and innovation projects, in
particular, the introduction of 4G communication, projects in the
military-industrial, agro-industrial complexes, and others.
