The Cabinet of
Ministers of Ukraine welcomes the approval by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in
first reading of bills from the health care reform package developed by the
Ministry of Health together with experts and MPs. This was stated by Prime Minister
of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.
"A difficult
decision, but the health care system requires change", stressed Volodymyr
Groysman.
Earlier, talking
to media, the Prime Minister accentuated that the real situation in the health
sector raises serious concern, though those changes are aimed to overcome
existing negative trends, and to promote an increase in life expectancy as well
as to introduce new treatment options and to improve the quality of medical care.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the team of the Ministry of Health, Gov’t officials, the working group of the Verkhovna Rada,
the President of Ukraine and members of the National Council of Reforms who had
engaged in shaping of a package of reform bills.
"Any reform requires political will and responsibility. One can find fault with anything, but I assure you that the option having offered is necessary. There is no alternative”, said Volodymyr Groysman. “It's time to change Ukraine. The changes aren’t simple. But I urge on everyone to unite to support the changes", added the Prime Minister.
