We are grateful to U.S. for genuine support of Ukraine's sovereignty and process of implementation of reforms - a meeting of Volodymyr Groysman with Rudolph Giuliani
Ukraine is grateful to the Government and people of the United States of
America for continuous support of official Kyiv in the struggle for sovereignty
and the implementation of internal reforms. This was stated by Prime Minister
of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman in the course of the meeting with adviser on cybersecurity to the White House, former mayor of New York
City Rudolph Giuliani on Tuesday.
"Today we are going through challenging time of building of the
State and the role of the United States in the modern history of our country is
historic. We are interested to put every single effort aimed at deepening our
political and economic cooperation. We have a tremendous opportunity and hope
that this relationship will yield a positive result ", highlighted the
Prime Minister.
Volodymyr Groysman briefed interlocutors about the situation in Ukraine
in the context of countering the military, economic, informational aggression
of the Russian Federation and also informed about the recent the Government's
endeavors seek to provide the economic stabilization in the country. In
particular, the Prime Minister highlighted refusal from Russian gas supplies,
acceleration of economic growth, putting in place fundamental reforms designed
to eliminate corruption, reforms in judicial as well as decentralization
spheres. The focal points of the agenda are medical, pension and privatization
reforms.
"That’s what will change the country and make it more sustainable
in the medium term, said the Head of Ukrainian Government. Our
goal - to strengthen economic upturn, to introduce a fair pension system, to
change the health care system, to reform education as well as to overhaul the
country, the withdrawal of Russian troops, to provide strong judicial system
and to approve all updated anti-corruption system ".
During the meeting the Prime Minister also informed Rudolph Giuliani
about constant shelling of the militants in Donbas and stressed that sanctions
against Russia should be preserved. “If sanctions were
imposed against the aggressor country as a penalty then abolition of sanctions
should be a reward for rejection of the plans of aggression, underlined
Volodymyr Groysman. Today we protect democratic values".
In turn, Rudolph Giuliani assured the Prime Minister of the unflagging
support of top U.S. leadership regarding the struggle "for freedom and
independence.”
