PM instructed Ministry of Finance to speed up elaboration of a draft law aimed to give a green light to electronic excise stamps
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman gave instructions to the
leadership of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine to speed up work on drafting a
law on the introduction in Ukraine of electronic excise stamps as instruments
of control over the circulation of excisable goods as well as instrument to
prevent s production and sale of smuggled goods. This was stated by the Prime
Minister in the course of Government ‘s meeting
while commenting on the urgent need to resolve the fight against counterfeit
alcohol and tobacco in the Ukrainian market.
«We have the only way to bring excisable goods on open and transparency
- is to introduce the electronic excise stamps. Other methods are not existing. It will be a constant fight against shadow
schemes. The electronic excise stamps – is a system which is used in the world,
noted the Head of the Government. There are tens of billions of hryvnias which
can be used to fill revenue part of the state as well as local budget. I am in
line to commission the Ministry of Finance - to accelerate work on drafting of
the bill, submit it to the Government for consideration ,
thereafter to send the aforesaid bill to the Parliament. We must adopt a
transparent and competitive law that will put a decisive end to this issue».
