The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine advocates allocating a sum worth $
1.5 billion - proceeds of crime of former senior officials and confiscated in
favor of the state to strengthen the national defense and infrastructure. This
was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during A Question
Time at the Verkhovna Rada
on Friday.
"As we know, the distribution of these funds must follow according
to the decision of the Verkhovna Rada
of Ukraine upon the proposal of the Government. We want to hold consultations
with the coalition, with the President of Ukraine to single out directions in
which we can use these funds. In my opinion, the burning sectors are national
defense, infrastructure, education, healthcare, as well as sectors of
construction of roads or other objects infrastructure", stressed Volodymyr
Groysman.
The Prime Minister noted that return of the plundered money to the state
budget aimed to contribute to the development of both national defense and
transport infrastructure and to strengthen national economy as well as an
economic growth.
