The
Ukrainian delegation led by Finance Minister Olexandr Danyliuk
commenced work at the twenty-sixth annual meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction
and Development (EBRD) which is taking place through May 9 to 11 in Nicosia, Cyprus.
The event
gathered about two thousand participants and is titled “Targeting Green and
Inclusive Growth. Meeting Regional and Global Challenges.”
In the framework
of the annual meeting Minister of Finance of Ukraine Olexandr Danyliuk is scheduled to meet with EBRD President Sir Suma Chakrabarti, EBRD Vice-President Alain Pilloux,
EBRD Chief Economist Sergei Guriev, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Cyprus Harris Georgiades, Representative of the U.S.
Treasury Department Clay Berry and other representatives of the EBRD
participating countries.
The
Minister shall also take part in the Ukraine Investment
Outlook Session, in which
participants will discuss investment climate in Ukraine and ways to improve
that.
The
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is providing support to
Ukraine to implement crucial reforms for the economy. Now the Bank has been
involved in dozens projects in Ukraine. Most of the projects focus on private
sector development and infrastructure. The total funding for existing projects
is around EUR 4 billion.
