PM urges local authorities to attach great responsibility and importance to activities on repair and construction of roads
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman calls on local authorities
to use with maximum responsibility resources obtained due to the
decentralization process to ensure proper organization as well as a
high-quality of work regarding the road repair activities, stressed the Prime
Minister at the beginning of the session on Wednesday.
"Annual serious systematic work will provide an opportunity to
trigger activities concerning road repairs more efficiently It is a top objective
for local governance which possesses billions, dozens billions due to the
decentralization reform which can be allocated to ensure reconstruction and
repair road activities at a high level”, emphasized the Prime Minister.
“I appeal to local leaders, mayors, chairmen of communities of Ukraine,
regional state administrations, regional administrations, regional council-dear
fellows, I urge you to spare no effort to carry out properly and efficiently
road repairs and constructions activities”, stressed Volodymyr Groysman, also
noting that it is easy to inspect repair activities directly at the local level
than at the state level.
Starting from 2018, a process of the repair and reconstruction of roads
as well as resources have been transferred to the level of responsibility of
local communities. In this context local authorities are to demonstrate
infrastructural readiness to carry out such activities, summed up the Prime
Minister.
