
Denmark will assist Ukraine to become an economically and socially prospering country
“Denmark
will assist Ukraine to become an economically and socially prospering country”,
the newly appointed Denmark’s Ambassador Mr. Ruben Madsen said at the ceremony
of delivering copies of his credentials to the Deputy Minister for European
integration Mrs. Olena Zerkal.
During the meeting both sides noted
the intensity of political dialogue between Ukraine and Denmark, particularly
stressing that the forthcoming official visit of the President of Ukraine Petro
Poroshenko to Copenhagen will give a new impetus to
the mutually beneficial cooperation.
The Danish Ambassador ensured that
his country will further provide every support and practical assistance in
implementing comprehensive reforms. The importance of sharing Danish experience
in the field of energy efficiency was particularly pointed out.
Both sides also discussed the issues
of Ukraine-EU cooperation. In this regard Mrs. Olena Zerkal drew Ambassador’s attention to the Russia’s attempts
to intensify Europe’s dependence on Russian energy supplies through the
construction of the new pipelines.
The Ukrainian side also informed
about the current situation in Donbas in the context of the Russian aggression
against Ukraine.
