The Financial Investigations Service shall serve an effective tool in the prevention of economic crimes against the state and creating a comfortable business climate in the country. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said announcing consideration of the bill on the setting up the Financial Investigations Service, developed by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, at the Gov’t session on Wednesday.
After a preliminary consideration by the Government this draft law will be submitted to the National Reform Council, and aftermath to the Parliament for final adoption.
"I’m talking about liquidation of the tax police, liquidation of the economic division of the National police, and elimination of relevant economic unit within the Security Service of Ukraine. To liquidate, to create a single financial investigation service having highly professional staff and doing efficient job in preventing economic crimes against the state. This is rather a good step forward called to create favourable business environment", said Volodymyr Groysman.
The Prime Minister believes that "only the development of the national economy will pull the country out of the slump which it has faced for decades."
He noted that the source of funds to improve various spheres of life of the country, in particular the construction of roads and the health sector, is the economy and entrepreneurs. Given this, business must feel comfortable, and none of the regulatory agencies has a right to put pressure on them, said Volodymyr Groysman.
The Prime Minister noted that previous week he had met with security agencies to discuss ways of preventing the abuse by regulatory authorities.
"Each agency should send a clear message down the structure to stop creating "nightmares" for business, establish normal conditions, support honest law-abiding business. It is clear, to actions of those who work against the state evading taxes, creating different schemes, we must respond firmly, but 99% of entrepreneurs are completely responsible, and they need protection, support, but not obstacles, which is the most important", said the Head of Government.
"The Financial Investigations Service is one of the systematic steps of the Government aimed to remove these obstacles, which are placed by relevant services", said the Prime Minister.
