
Volodymyr Groysman met with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Ismail Kahraman
Prime Minister
of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman in Ankara met with Speaker of the Grand National
Assembly of Turkey Ismail Kahraman. During the
meeting the parties discussed prospective areas of bilateral cooperation
between the two countries.
Volodymyr
Groysman noted high level of collaboration and understanding between the Parliaments
of Ukraine and Turkey which had recently intensified considerably. So, last
year Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of Andrii
Parubii paid a visit to Turkey. In turn, the visit of
the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Ismail Kahraman
is expected, he stressed.
The Prime
Minister informed the interlocutors about the actions of the Ukrainian
Government in pursuing the reform path.
The parties also touched upon the issue of the countering
the Russian aggression. In this context, the Prime Minister stressed that
Ukraine is grateful to Turkey for its consistent support of the territorial
integrity of Ukraine.
Separately, the Prime Minister highlighted that the
restoration of powers of the Russian Federation delegation in the Parliamentary
Assembly of the Council of Europe is considered unacceptable.
He briefed on the situation in the occupied Crimea and
eastern Ukraine. The Head of Ukrainian Government stressed on the need to prevent
the militarization of Crimea.
Moreover, Volodymyr Groysman emphasized that sanctions
against the Russian Federation should be prolonged.
