Prime Minister: A total relief aid of about UAH 700 thousand will be paid to the bereaved families in Lviv region

The families of coal miners of coalmine № 10 Stepova in Lviv region, where today eight miners were killed as a result of an explosion and the rock collapse will get one-time relief aid from the State to the tune of UAH 600,000 to UAH 700,000 per family. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman to media following the meeting of State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations dedicated to considering the accident on the Stepova mine of JSC LvivVuhillia, in Hlukhiv village of Sokalsky area, Lviv region.

“We are to adopt a decision to pay one-off assistance worth half a million hryvnyas to each family. There will be allocated relevant compensation from social funds as well. The total sum of reimbursement amounts to nearly UAH 600,000 to UAH 700,000,” stated the Head of the Government.

Having visited the mine the Prime Minister plans to attend the injured persons in a hospital. He emphasized that 19 miners had been hospitalized, 4 had been transported to hospitals in Lviv.

Volodymyr Groysman expressed readiness to send a plane to transport the victims to Kyiv is necessary.

“If there is a need for transportation of anybody to Kyiv to obtain a highly qualified assistance- I will commission to send a plane to convey them to Kyiv,” underlined the Head of Government.

“We guarantee necessary assistance to support people who are injured and hospitalized,’’ accentuated Volodymyr Groysman.

The Prime Minister expressed condolences to the bereaved families. “It is irreparable loss for families, colleagues and comrades. We all share a deep sadness with you,” underlined Volodymyr Groysman.
