  • Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze: The US Congress demonstrates strong support for extending sanctions against RF

    Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze met with American legislators – U.S. Senator Dick Durbin and Congressman Mike Quigley.

    The main topics of discussion were security issues and reforms in Ukraine.

    The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine thanked American politicians for their active participation in the promotion of Ukraine's interests in the institutions of the United States. "You are among the best friends of Ukraine in the U.S. Congress. We are grateful for the support of our people in word and deed", said Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze.

    In turn, Dick Durbin and Mike Quigley assured the Vice Prime Minister of continuous support for our state, in particular regarning the granting to Ukraine in 2017 of a $ 350 million assistance.

    Senator Dick Durbin praised the reforms in Ukraine and pledged that he would spare no effort to prolong support for our country. Separately, he stressed that Ukraine is facing aggression in a time when fundamental change is taking place: "On one front you have a war against Russia, and on the other - againts corruption."

    Congressman Michael Quigley, in turn, advocated the continuation of retaliatory sanctions against Russia. "Support for sanctions is bicameral, bipartisan and extremely strong," he said.
