In 2016,
the exports of Ukrainian agricultural products to European countries increased
almost by 1.6% compared to 2015, and amounted US$ 4242,4.
This was
started by Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine for European
Integration Olga Trofimtseva.
"In
2016, the European countries took the second place among the regional importers
of Ukrainian agricultural and food products with a share of 27.5%, the second
only Asian countries. In the General trade turnover of agricultural products,
the EU's share last year amounted to 31.5%. In the top-5 countries-importers of
our products from the EU are Spain, Poland, Netherlands, Italy and
Germany," - said Olga Trofimtseva.
As she
said, the major Ukrainian export items to European countries last year were (in
monetary values): cereals, oil seeds, oilseed, fruits and nuts. Ukrainian
honey, meats, pastries and juices were also in demand among European consumers.
She also
noted that the import of European products to Ukraine also increased in 2016
year and amounted US$ 1904,5. The main products of
imports were food products such as sauces, coffee, tea and so on.
