Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman calls on everyone who cares about Ukraine to unite in order to shape and implement the Medium-Term Plan of Priority Actions for the Government until 2020, thereby ensuring sustainable economic development and efficient sectoral reforms in the country.

Opening a Government meeting on Wednesday, the Prime Minister announced that the Cabinet of Ministers launched a public discussion of the draft Medium-Term Plan of Priority Actions for the Government until 2020 which had been presented on December 28.

So, yesterday, with the participation of experts and Ministers there took place a discussion of the financial-economic block of the Government’s activity, economic development issues. The participants of the roundtable considered the steps to preserve sustainable economic growth within the country.

Volodymyr Groysman noted that the achievements of 2016 had been maintaining macroeconomic stability and positive signals triggering economic upturn as compared to the decline of the economy back in 2014-2015.

Economic advance needs to be intensified, the Prime Minister assures. For this purpose it is necessary to plan serious measures for next four years 2017-2020, contained in the Medium-Term Plan.

"Systemic work directed to the development of the national economy will allow us to accelerate this growing trend. As a result, this rapid growth will be tangible for the Ukrainian citizens: jobs, wages, products, higher purchasing ability. To reach that goal we should do some serious and concrete things," stressed the Head of Government.

Today we will engage in an open discussion of the Medium-Term Plan to reform the civil service, the day after tomorrow – there is due a meeting on education and human capital development, told Volodymyr Groysman. Thus, in a speedy way a step-by-step blueprint for action will be formed, he said.

"I would like it to be not just the plan for our Government, a plan of Groysman, – it should be a roadmap for Ukraine. It should be a shared activity, so that all those who really care about Ukraine join the process of shaping it and that of implementation as well,” emphasized Volodymyr Groysman. “Winding up the discussion we should have a unifying document".

The Prime Minister urged ministries that conduct roundtables and discussions to provide a maximum range of participants.

Moreover, he invited everyone to demonstrate synergy in execution of this document, containing issues related to the work of the Government, the Parliament and other authorities. "We should develop synergy to make this plan an absolute reality," said Volodymyr Groysman.

"This is not another document just to draft, adopt, present and then forget leaving it somewhere on the sidelines. This is a real document, which will clearly fix what each Ministry must do in their field of responsibility to guarantee economic upturn, and social justice in our country, and reforms, and changes in infrastructure, improving of the quality of education. It’s because sectoral reforms are extremely significant for our country," accentuated the Head of Government.

"The challenge for all of us is absolutely clear: economic boost, higher wages for Ukrainians, jobs for people, normal infrastructure, high-quality education, high-quality health care. I think in 3-4 years in the medium perspective we will manage to achieve success here, namely: to raise salaries, and enhance the competitiveness of our economy, to attract more investment. We are capable of creating measures to improve the life span of the Ukrainian citizens, we will succeed in the introduction of the New Ukrainian school, the quality of secondary education and so on," assured Volodymyr Groysman.
