  • Volodymyr Groysman and Prime Minister of Moldova discussed in a telephone call topical issues of cooperation between the countries

    Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on Thursday held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filip. The heads of government discussed topical issues of cooperation, particularly in trade-economic and energy spheres.

    Volodymyr Groysman welcomed the decision of the Government of Moldova to abolish the restrictive measures on imports of Ukrainian meat and dairy products in 2017.

    The Prime Minister of Ukraine confirmed an invitation for the Head of the Government of Moldova to take part in a meeting of heads of government of GUAM member states and a business forum within its framework planned in Kyiv.

    Volodymyr Groysman offered to hold the first since 2011 meeting of the intergovernmental Commission in April - May this year in Ukraine. He also commended the results of the meeting of co-chairs of the intergovernmental Ukraine- Moldova Commission - First Vice Prime Minister/Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv and Vice Prime Minister/Minister of Economy of Moldova Octavian Calmîc in November 2016 in Chisinau.

    Among other issues on the agenda of bilateral relations, the Prime Ministers considered, namely the so-called ‘package agreements’ with respect to the Dniester hydropower complex. In this regard, the Head of Ukrainian Government offered to commission relevant ministries and departments to carry out in February this year negotiations and make final decisions.

    Moreover, Volodymyr Groysman voiced Ukraine's particular interest in the renewal of electricity supplies to the market of Moldova and the willingness to participate in the relevant tender.
