Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman ordered Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine to take all steps and identify perpetrators who committed a criminal offence in a synagogue in Uman, and punish them as soon as possible. The Head of Government said during the Cabinet’s meeting on Wednesday commenting on the incident in synagogue in Uman near the grave of Rabbi Nachman.

Volodymyr Groysman gave a commission to Minister Arsen Avakov to ensure the criminals identified and punished, to establish cooperation between law enforcement agencies in each particular area and different religious confessions.

The Head of Government believes that a road to the temple must be free in every way.

"Ukraine is a beautiful multiethnic and multicultural country. The most important features of Ukrainian citizens are hospitality, candour and kindness. Each person in a democratic country has the right to freedom of religion, and Ukraine is a free democratic country. So, if someone is going to approach the religious buildings - whether it is a church, a Catholic church, a synagogue or a mosque – with impure thoughts, he will be treated as the enemy of our state, the enemy of the Ukrainian people", emphasized Volodymyr Groysman.
