Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman is advocating for the adoption by Parliament of 2017 budget, thereby allowing the Government to prepare and to enter the new fiscal year as planned.

"We have to start the year of 2017 according to the plan, so a few weeks are left before the new year and all local governments, everyone who engages in budget processes should have time to get ready to the beginning of a new budget year", stressed Volodymyr Groysman during the Government meeting on Wednesday.

He noted that previously the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine had passed three government bills: on amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine No. 5130; on amendments to the Budget Code of Ukraine (regarding the improvement of the preparation and implementation of budgets) No. 5131 – as a basis; on amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine concerning balancing of budget revenues in 2017 No. 5132 – as a basis.

Thus, due to the Parliament, the Government has taken the first step towards restoring of social justice among the citizens, said the Prime Minister.

"The first achievement is an initiative of our Government to raise the minimum wage up to UAH 3200 was supported yesterday. 227 MPs voted in favour of the bill of the Government. This means that starting 1 January following adoption of the Budget, the Tax Code and the Budget Code the wage worth UAH 3200 becomes absolutely real", stressed the Prime Minister.

In this context the Head of Government thanked MPs for the support of government bills.

"We have made a step forward in the matter of approval the state budget. There have left final approval of laws and final adoption of the draft Budget for 2017," summed up Volodymyr Groysman.
