Starting 1 January 2017, no one will get pay under UAH 3200, said Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman at the plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister thanked the MPs for the adoption as a basis and in general of the relevant draft Law on amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine No. 5130, which gives an opportunity to fix the minimum wage in Ukraine amounting UAH 3200 from January 1, 2017.

"From village to city nobody in our country will receive a wage under 3,200 hryvnias”, said Volodymyr Groysman, adding he reassures it will happen.

The Prime Minister noted that the Government had engaged in elaboration of ways to introduce the minimum wage in the country corresponding to the real basket of consumer goods for 2017. The corresponding bill No. 5130 was considered by the Government with trade unions, factions and the relevant Parliament’s Committee, told Volodymyr Groysman.

According to him, a twofold increase in the minimum wage will positively affect the economy.

"This bill and raising the minimum wage will lead to improvement of the situation in the economy, the expansion of consumption in the real sector of economy and creation of additional jobs," summed up Volodymyr Groysman.
