Today Ukraine has a real army that protects apart from the borders of our state also those of the modern Europe, as well as the values of all civilized societies. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman declared during the festive events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Today we can say that we have a real army capable of defending our country, the values inherent in any civilized society. With a heroic feat of each Ukrainian soldier today there are being protected the borders of Ukraine and modern Europe", stressed Volodymyr Groysman.

He noted that presently the state was experiencing trials in its history. "No one could have expected that in the 21st century, even those who until recently were persuading they were our friends, would aim their weapons at our direction and wage military aggression. But our Ukrainian soldier in the most difficult moments, despite everything, stood up to defend our native land," he said.

According to him, the Ukrainian warriors are acting as "a model for modern generations and laying a solid foundation of patriotism for future generations".

In 25 years of independence the Ukrainian troops have suffered different times, in particular the attempts to destroy them and weaken the army, stressed the Head of Government.

In this context, the essential objective of today is to create conditions and improve logistic support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: "to provide each Ukrainian soldier with a good salary, to provide everything that is necessary for a modern army to ensure their efficiency, to provide our Ukrainian troops with state-of-the-art personal weapons," highlighted the Prime Minister.

Year after year the Government exerts efforts to increase financial resource for the Ukrainian army. Over recent years the situation has improved, but this is insufficient “to give credit to the Ukrainian army”, accentuated the Head of Government.

The Prime Minister thanked the Ukrainian military, Ministers, commanders, who directly engage in building of a modern army, and international partners, who “in difficult times lent their shoulder”, shared the experience and are still providing technical assistance.

Volodymyr Groysman expressed gratitude to each Ukrainian military and wished peace, harmony, prosperity and victory to them and their families.
