Given that proper conditions for the development of Ukrainian economy are created through buildup of an effective system of public governance and a dialogue with the business, opportunities of Ukraine will be used so that the country will achieve a major breakthrough in 3-5 years. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman in his opening address for the Kyiv International Economic Forum on Thursday.

"Good governance, high-quality dialogue with businesses, creation of appropriate conditions for the development of Ukrainian economy will allow Ukraine to make a breakthrough. We should avoid imitating Singapore or other. We must be a country that uses 100% of its own resources and capabilities. And I assure you that in 3 to 5 years we will achieve success, but we should clearly realize that it’s impossible without effort", stressed Volodymyr Groysman.

The Prime Minister accentuated that Ukraine has unsurpassed opportunities to succeed, but behind it is a serious work and, possibly, unpopular steps, particularly in the areas of anti-corruption policy, a system of justice to make it credible, activities that allow businesses "to feel free and not to serve to satisfy abusive interests of authorities”. On the contrary, professional mechanisms of public governance must serve each Ukrainian businessman, Volodymyr Groysman said.

Apart from that, the PM assured, good governance, openness, predictability of government policy will afford to generate economic growth.

"Our current objective is to use the maximum potential of our State in order to take worthy place on the world map", said the Prime Minister.

The Head of Government noted all should demonstrate synergy and make the necessary steps to ensure success of Ukraine. "If we all believe that in this period of historical importance it depends on us how our country lives today and will live tomorrow, what kind of country we will leave for our children, then it will make us to wake up every morning and work effectively", he stressed.

In this context, Volodymyr Groysman informed the Government had become a platform for the formation of a common position between authorities, businesses, experts and civil society.

"My commitment to our country is to create proper conditions not only to ensure macroeconomic stability but to advance economic growth as well. But we can do it only in synergy. What I want is to build together a country we are dreaming to live in", he said.

The Prime Minister pointed out that populism should sink into oblivion. According to him, society must demand responsibility from politicians for every word and decision.

"Those who are trying to work in Ukraine using old methods will never build a new Ukraine”, the Prime Minister accentuated. “It is time for the responsible policy and national patriotism."
