Ukraine has
the potential for the development of the space industry, and the Government is
working to elaborate a long-term policy. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman remarked during
A Question Time at the Verkhovna Rada
of Ukraine on Friday.
"Staffing
policy is one thing, and another thing is building a strategy for the
development of the space industry. Now we are working to shape the prospects
for the years to come - the space sphere cannot demonstrate the result for one
to two months, or a year - in order to clearly understand what we invest in the
space industry, and what we will obtain as a result", said Volodymyr Groysman.
According
to him, Ukraine possesses a considerable potential for the development of space
industry, which in previous years wasn’t used deliberately.
"Like
our country's defensive capacity, and space industry and other high-tech
productions used to be destroyed, and they were destroyed from the inside of
the system. In particular those were interested in that who wanted to weaken
Ukraine", he said.
Volodymyr Groysman noted that despite current poor space industry position
in the country, it was necessary to make personnel decisions, as the Government
did.
