
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, at a meeting with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker, pledges Ukraine and the U. S. to prolong tight cooperation
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman had a meeting with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker on Wednesday. The parties discussed directions and measures to deepen bilateral cooperation.
"For us the most important task is building a strong economy of our state. Therefore, strategic collaboration between Ukraine and the United States of America is crucial", said Volodymyr Groysman at the meeting.
The Prime Minister underlined that creating of favourable business environment was included into top priorities of the Government’s activities.
In early October, there will be presented an Investment Support Office under supervision of the Prime Minister of Ukraine, said Volodymyr Groysman.
The Government
also concentrates its efforts on the reform of the Ukrainian customs. On 19
September the U.S. delegation submitted their recommendations regarding the
reform of the customs service and soon their practical implementation will commence.
In this context, the Prime Minister thanked Vice President Joe Biden and the
U.S. Administration for their support in the process of reforms.
Progress
has also been made in the issue of VAT refund, told Volodymyr Groysman. The Government elaborated relevant
changes to launch transformations in the system of tax administration.
Volodymyr
Groysman and Penny Pritzker agreed to continue close
bipartite collaboration to ensure implementation of the roadmap of the
Ukrainian-American cooperation.
U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker
noted significant progress in implementing reforms in Ukraine. Moreover, she commended
the efforts of the Government, which made it possible to prolong cooperation
with the International Monetary Fund.
