
Volodymyr Groysman during a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski: Economic and trade cooperation should become a priority of cooperation between Ukraine and Poland
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on Tuesday held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski. The parties discussed enhancement of bilateral cooperation between the countries.
Volodymyr Groysman noted that the level of trade and economic cooperation is insufficient and has the potential to deepen. In this context, he called for the revitalization of activities of the intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation.
The Prime Minister stressed the need of development of infrastructure. He accentuated that development of the state border, combining transportation capabilities are the issues aimed at facilitating better integration and speeding up economic collaboration.
Special
attention, according to him, requires the development of border infrastructure,
it is necessary to organize joint control and customs clearance: "We need
to improve the quality of services", he said.
The Prime
Minister also noted the necessity of deepening bilateral cooperation between
Ukraine and Poland along the following lines: defense, energy, education, cooperation
at regional and local levels, coordination of efforts at
the international political level.
In this
context, the Prime Minister thanked Poland for the support for Ukraine in its
European integration aspirations and in countering the Russian aggression.
The Prime
Minister also highly commended the talks with Prime Minister of the Republic of
Poland Beata Szydlo in Krynica
Zdrój. "I believe that the topics we
discussed will be translated into concrete action", he summed up.
