The
Government envisages in the draft State budget for 2017 setting up of a Road
Fund that is aimed to enhance the process of major reconstruction of roads and
to have a positive impact on the national economy. This was stated by Prime
Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on opening a Government meeting on
Wednesday.
"We
should intensify the major overhaul [of the roads], so we budget the creation
of a new Road Fund. This means that Ukrainians will have jobs,
related sectors with road construction industry will be involved in this
process as well. It will also facilitate the development of the national
economy," said Volodymyr Groysman.
"We
all understand: more work - more jobs – enhanced competition - higher salaries
for the Ukrainian citizens", he said.
The Prime
Minister reminded that the Government this year had launched a large-scale
repair of Ukrainian roads.
Among other
priorities determined by the Government in the draft 2017 Budget are the
support for the agrarian sector, energy efficiency, national defense and
security, and prolonging the decentralization, accentuated the Prime Minister.
