Prime
Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman
urges local authorities to use a growth of local budgets as a result of the decentralization
reform on energy efficiency measures and other problems of community, but not
to keep these resources on deposit in banks for interest. This was started by the
Head of the Government during a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, August 31.
"Colleagues,
if we want to become energy efficient, invest in infrastructure to create new
jobs, improve education system, treatment, we cannot send funds on deposit in
banks, at the time when people's problems are unresolved. Some municipalities just
keep billions that should work for the Ukrainian citizens on deposit on a
permanent basis. Invest these resources in energy efficiency!" Volodymyr Groysman urged local
authorities.
Such
measures will allow you to save money on energy, increase the income of local
budgets and enhance the competitiveness of cities, villages, towns.
The Prime
Minister noted that today local budgets have the funds as a result of
decentralization. We also have resources of the State Regional Development Fund
and governmental grants for economic and social development and they will be
stored. "But I want to emphasize that responsibility lies on the local
authorities directly," Volodymyr Groysman said.
