The reform of devolving power in Ukraine allowed the local authorities to obtain new resources and capabilities to solve pressing problems independently. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman announced in his opening statement at the Government meeting on Tuesday, August 23.

Volodymyr Groysman reminded that he had personally supervised the decentralization reform from the beginning of work in the Government.

“After two years of action, we realize that we have made a number of important steps that allow today the communities, villages, towns, cities feel rightful masters, obtain new resources, new opportunities, get chances not just talk about problems, but to solve them independently", said the Prime Minister.

An example of the decentralization reform should encourage further transformations in the country that people should feel, stressed Volodymyr Groysman.

"If we just talk about reforms and people don’t feel changes, it will mean that we follow the wrong way. We need to spare no effort and to intensify the feeling of people that they are the true hosts of their land," he highlighted.
