Dear Ukrainian citizens!

I cordially congratulate You on the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine!

The blue and yellow ensign is the relic for us that past generations have retained through the centuries. Our flag is inextricably joined with the heroic history of the Ukrainian people, striving for independence and struggle against empires and totalitarian regimes. Many generations of Ukrainians gave their lives and brought nearer the time so that today the national flag of Ukraine could be waving all over the country.

Today the blue and yellow flag over the positions of our defenders symbolizes victory in the bitter struggle. We know that we will win. I believe that soon our flag will be associated not just with a nation that defends freedom, independence and territorial integrity of its state, but also with the successful, competitive and rich European country.
