Volodymyr Kistion told about plans to elaborate a strategy of development of Ukrainian roads

To create a strategy of development of Ukrainian roads there will be involve European specialists. This was stressed by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion during an interview with hromadske.ua.

Volodymyr Kistion noted that first we should conduct all necessary research, taking into account the traffic, the movement of passengers, movement of goods and railway network as well.

"It is vital to analyse in complex and form a single vision for the development of Ukrainian roads. Before we start some big thing, it is necessary to build in mind and develop a relevant blueprint. When we have a clear plan, then it will be easier to advance and to set priorities", explained the Vice Prime Minister.

He also said that both national and foreign experts should be engaged into the elaboration process.

"First and foremost, it is within the scope of [responsibilities –ed.] the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, State Agency of Automobile Roads, in which line professionals are concentrated. But given that our goal is Europe, that we should implement the requirements of European legislation, it is viewed as necessary to request assistance for the development of this strategy - experts, specialists of the European level, from the United States of America," said Volodymyr Kistion.

According to him, the World Bank is ready to provide financial assistance in the process of drafting this strategy.
