Government appoints Uliana Suprun as acting Health Minister

At a meeting on Wednesday, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has appointed the Deputy Minister, a volunteer and a doctor, Uliana Suprun, as acting Health Minister of Ukraine.

This question was foreseen according to the agenda, informed Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, opening the meeting.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed Uliana Suprun as Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine at the last session on Friday, reminded the Prime Minister.

Volodymyr Groysman has noted that the Deputy Minister should be allowed to analyze the developments of the Government’s team, and present a concept of healthcare reform at the next meeting of the Government. The Prime Minister also said that special attention should be paid to the improvement of the quality and accessibility of health services, as well as the training of and proper salaries for doctors.

"This reform is extremely difficult, but very necessary for our country," emphasized Volodymyr Groysman.

He has recalled that the Government undertook some steps towards de-monopolization of the drug market. The corresponding law, initiated by the Government and supported by the Parliament, was approved by the Verkhovna Rada and signed by the President.
