Prime Minister of
Ukraine Volodymyr
Groysman has instructed the State Fiscal Service of
Ukraine, the State Audit Service to check the effectiveness in the use of funds
allocated for the repair of roads in Ukraine. Identified
abuse must be uncompromisingly investigated and the guilty – punished, the
Prime Minister emphasized.
"I would
like we thoroughly review the amount of work done," said Volodymyr Groysman on Monday during a workshop on the implementation of road works in Ukraine
with the participation of Vice Prime Minister Volodymyr
Kistion, Head
of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine Roman Nasirov,
Chief of the State Audit Service of Ukraine Lidia Havrylova.
The Prime
Minister pointed out that the Government had begun repair works on Ukrainian
roads this year. For
carrying out road works has already been allocated UAH 6.5 billion out of the
whole sum UAH 19 billion.
"We need to
restore roads, and it is very important to use every hryvna,
allocated for these purposes, effectively," emphasized the Prime Minister.
Volodymyr
Groysman noted that road works - renovation, construction, current repairs of roads –
were very often used "for stealing money." "This
is unacceptable," he stressed.
The Prime
Minister urged the inspectors to be uncompromising and honest in detecting
abuses and stressed the need for strict control.
"I
will count on your fast work in order to receive the first result and give quite
a clear message to everyone that nobody will be able to hide from us. I deem everyone
is able to make objective decisions and do their work conscientiously," pointed
out Volodymyr Groysman.
