On July 11,
Finance Minister Olexander Danyliuk met with the technical mission of the
International Monetary Fund.
The topic
of discussion was the implementation of the reform of the State Fiscal Service.
The
delegation of the fiscal affairs department of the IMF came to Ukraine to
conduct an independent assessment of the reform of the State Fiscal Service and
develop recommendations.
The sides
discussed the implementation of key performance indicators developed by the
Ministry of Finance (KPI) which reflect the expectations of business from
structural changes in the SFS. It was also considered the reduction of
unnecessary functions and inefficient staff of the SFS, firstly dismiss support
staff in the regions and use the released funds to increase salaries.
To reduce
abuse in the SFS, the Ministry of
Finance is developing additional tools to protect the rights of taxpayers.
Currently it is also planned to simplify the process of appeals.
