Volodymyr Groysman urges MPs to adopt bills that will ensure implementation of benefits and return to the budget funds, proceeds from crime by former senior officials

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman called on MPs to adopt the bills being on the agenda of the Parliament that will ensure the implementation of social benefits in the country, further cooperation with the International Monetary Fund and return to the state budget 1.5 billion dollars, proceeds from crime by former senior officials.

In particular, he drew the attention of the MPs to the approval of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine. The  Prime Minister pointed out that the draft budget for 2016, approved by the Parliament, provides that under the decision of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine the state budget must receive UAH38 billion, which will be used for payment of salaries, utilities, pensions and other compulsory payments, financial support of the army.

He noted that the NBU Council was set up to monitor the activities of the National Bank.

The Prime Minister also urged to consider and adopt a package of bills that were introduced by the previous Government and submitted again by the new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers as to ensuring implementation of the cooperation program with the IMF.

"The adoption of these bills will enable us to ensure macroeconomic stability in the country. It is actually required for Ukrainian citizens. This is for every citizen who has today to get a sense of perspective that the situation in Ukraine will improve," Volodymyr Groysman.

The Prime Minister stressed that since the beginning of the year the Ukraine's economy showed a slight increase. This level is not enough, but it is necessary to maintain this  positive signal and accelerate economic growth, he said.

"The reforms we are carrying  out are needed not for the IMF – they are needed for Ukraine in order to become institutionally strong, to use the best practices, to change life in our country," emphasized Volodymyr Groysman and called the MPs to support this issue.

Moreover, on the agenda of the Parliament is the issue of returning to the state budget of 1.5 billion dollars, proceeds from crime by former senior officials, arrested in the accounts of Ukrainian banks.

"We have to do our utmost in order to return these funds in a legitimate way to the state budget and force them serve Ukrainian society," said Volodymyr Groysman.

He called on the MPs to adopt this decision that would "launch the process of justice."

"I beg and urge you to enter the session hall and take the necessary decisions aimed at providing stabilization in our country, the payment of the necessary funds for our public sector, funding for other programs, including modernization and reconstruction, and construction in our country, " said Volodymyr Groysman, addressing the MPs.
