PM says populism deprives Ukraine of its future
The policy
of populism robs the future of the country, threatens its independence and
economic development, and should fall into oblivion. On Tuesday, Prime Minister
of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this during a press conference after his
working visit to the United States.
"Populists
want to deprive Ukraine of its future as they always have been doing this. They
promise a lot, unfortunately, for decades being in power they have done
absolutely nothing and are creating conditions that deepen crisis more and more
every year," said Volodymyr Groysman.
The Prime Minister believes that Ukraine has
three enemies - Russian aggression, corruption and populists. "All these
three phenomena in our lives undermine our independence, want to deprive us of
the future as well as prospects for economic development," he noted.
"The
time has come to demonstrate responsible policy, we have to be absolutely
patriotic to our country and to build it in such a way that people feel, on the
one hand, the state’s care, on the other hand, that the country has created
such conditions under which a person can realize itself, and those vulnerable
receive quality social support and assistance," the Prime Minister underlined.
In turn,
Volodymyr Groysman highlighted that he is open and will do his utmost "to
make Ukraine an independent modern European country with great development of
the national economy and the prosperity of each Ukrainian family."
The Prime
Minister is confident that the policy of populism must go into oblivion for 25
years of independence of the country. "If someone from populists ever
known wants to deprive us of the future, I will just prevent them from doing
this," he stated.
