  • Volodymyr Groysman at the opening of the International Agricultural Exhibition - Fair AGRO 2016: Development of the agricultural sector is one of the most important priorities of the Government

    Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has attended the opening of the International Agricultural Exhibition – Fair AGRO 2016 on Wednesday, June 8.

    "The agricultural sector in our country is strategically important and demonstrates the success today. I am deeply convinced that Ukraine will be a world leader in the production of agricultural products," stated Volodymyr Groysman.

    The Prime Minister assured that the development of the agricultural sector is one of the most important priorities of the Government.

    "I understand that today there are many problems in the agricultural sector, but we are here to settle these problems. We together are absolutely bolstering an increase in investment into the sector, to develop an effective support system and especially support for small farms," he said.

    Volodymyr Groysman emphasized the need to expand the range of products and to improve their quality. It is also important to move on to more advanced processing of agricultural products, "This is new jobs, this is our perspective." Also, according to him, we have to increase productivity, yields, to introduce new technologies that will enable Ukraine to maintain its dominant position in this area.

    The Prime Minister thanked "those who work in the agricultural field for holding leading positions in such a difficult time" and wished all farmers success, prospects, and good health.

    The Prime Minister got acquainted with the activities of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the State Agency for Fisheries of Ukraine, the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the state-owned enterprises, as well as visited the pavilions with products of companies from different regions of Ukraine and manufacturers in the field of crop production.
