May 23, in the framework of a visit of Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze to the EU
institutions she had a meeting with EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural
Development Phil Hogan.
The parties
discussed cooperation in agriculture sector, the state of
bilateral trade in agricultural products. The Vice Prime
Minister of Ukraine and the EU Commissioner stressed the importance of increasing market access for agri-foods, and the need of eliminating non-tariff barriers, including the sector of sanitary
and phytosanitary control.
The Vice Prime Minister expressed
gratitude to the EU
Commissioner for the support by
the European Union of Ukraine's endeavours in
reforming a system of
control and surveillance over food safety as well as consumer
protection.
